• What? Dubai Shopping Festival 2009 (see also list of DSF 2009 events), the 14th annual festival of shopping and gridlock on the roads. Expect more bargains, cheaper flights and cheaper hotel rooms this year than in previous years due to the financial turmoil around the world. About 150 entertainment events are included, and plenty of raffles so everyone will think they have a chance of winning something. Good luck.
• Where? Dubai shopping malls and shops, other venues for entertainment and activities. About 6000 retail outlets and 40 shopping malls are participating.
• When? 15 January to 15 February 2009 (32 days)
• How much? Depends on how much of a shopaholic you are
• Tickets from where? No tickets needed for shopping, tickets needed for some of the events

The Dubai Shopping Festival (DSF) 2009 opening ceremony has been cancelled to show solidarity with the people of Gaza. An announcement was made today (Monday 12 January 2009) by Sheikh Ahmed Bin Saeed Al Maktoum, chairman of the Dubai Shopping Festival Office (DSFO) Supreme Committee. All other DSF 2009 activities will continue as scheduled. A similar announcement was made on 31 December 2008 for New Year Dubai cancellation.
