Jal Ashwa means sea horse (or maybe river horse / hippopotamus) in Sanskrit, and the island will eventually be the shape of a seahorse, with a lagoon in the middle, and a marina at the tail end. At present the island is a round pile of sand so there will be some modifications (Nakheel does all that work building up a mound of sand in the middle of the sea, and Jalashwa is going to chuck half of it back in the water ...). Some of the villas will be built around putting greens (or "golfing greens" according to the news report in The National). Jal Ashwa / Jal Aashwa / Opulence Holdings are planning to have a stand at the Moscow Millionaire Fair (in Moscow) on 27 November 2008.

In general, for all UAE property developments, information given here is usually based on information supplied from press releases, media reports, company marketing, and may not be independently confirmed. Unit sizes are unlikely to be vastly different but layout and design could change. Actual completion date could be months or even years later than promised delivery dates.
