Private Messages (PMs)

Private Messages (PMs)

A Personal or Private Message (PM) can be sent to other forum members without it being publicly seen. However, this is primarily a discussion forum, not an email system. Members abusing the PM system (sending unwanted messages, harrassing other members, sending inappropriate messages) will at least be warned, and may be deleted without warning (along with all their posts). Any form of commercial solicitation or any other sort of solicitation is likely to get the member deleted without warning. Use the company forum to inform members about your organisation. The forum rules about language etc apply to private messages as well as public posts.

Please do not send PMs to ask questions about Dubai, Abu Dhabi, the UAE, that are appropriate for the forum. They will usually be ignored and deleted, leaving you scratching your head wondering why nobody has responded. The point of this forum is so that everyone can benefit from shared knowledge and discussion. By entering into private discussions for information, other members do not gain from the exchange, and of course you end up restricting yourself to just one person's opinion.

The PM system is appropriate for information that should not be publicly displayed - for example if you want to make your personal details available to another forum member, or sending a CV to someone posting a job vacancy in the classified ads section (although we recommend you exercise caution before sending personal information - we don't know if a poster legitimately represents an organisation or not - and there are job scams around the world - see Global Recruiters for example).

Please do not use the PM system for personal and/or confidential requests for help or advice. Comments and information are limited to what can be displayed publicly, and forum administrators or moderators are not in a position to offer individual assistance. For that kind of help try contacting the appropriate authority, government agency, embassy, consulate, police, or a lawyer.

All the above comments apply to requests for information or discussion by email also. Note that if you enter into email correspondence with another member, then that's nothing to do with us, but it is not acceptable to use the forum to request email addresses, or advice/comments by email. If you receive unwanted requests by PM for email addresses or other personal details, please forward the PM to a forum moderator. If you receive unwanted requests by email, please deactivate the public display of your email address (in User Profile settings).
Please use the forum for questions, not the PM system.

Hello Shawarma,

The PMs, I sent are not delivered. They just stay in the outboxs. Ones been there for over 2 weeks and another one for like 36hrs now.
What am I doing wrong?

Cheers

There's nothing wrong with what you're doing, the system is set up that way. PMs stay in your outbox until they are read by the recipient, then they get moved to your sent box. If the recipient doesn't read them (or even log in to read them) then there's not much you can do. You could try sending another PM - an email is automatically sent to the member when a PM is posted to them.
Please use the forum for questions, not the PM system.
