[Scam] British School Al Khubairat Abu Dhabi teaching job

Postby shawarma » 06 Jun 2010, 15:08

Similar to the Dubai British School teaching job hoax, the British School Al Khubairat in Abu Dhabi (BSAK) seems to have become a victim of an organisation advertising bogus ESL teaching jobs in Abu Dhabi.

BSAK is a real school, and regarded as one of the best British schools in Abu Dhabi by many parents and teachers.

Paul Coackley really is the head teacher / principal at BSAK but it looks like his name is used fraudulently in the job postings - mostly seen on internet forums and online job advert websites for EFL teachers.

The scam will probably ask for money for visa fees once you reply to their advertisement. UAE Labour Law says the employer is supposed to pay for visa fees, and whilst not all employers follow the law, BSAK is a reputable enough employer that it would be very surprising if they did ask their teachers to pay for visas. Anyway, you should always contact the school directly to see if there really is a teaching job, and find the contact details independently from the job advertisement.

If you particularly want to work at the Al Khubairat British School (BSAK) (the real one that is, not the one from the fake teaching jobs), then the best way is probably to apply to them directly. Check their website for details of any latest or current teaching vacancies. Or send a CV and application letter to them anyway.

See the Abu Dhabi teaching jobs information for more about how to do that, and the best ways to apply for other teaching jobs in the UAE.
