Smart Wings is a Czech based Low Cost Carrier or Airline (LCC) that started in 2004 and operates from a hub in Prague with flights to Dubai and European destinations, although they are looking to expand to Asian and Middle Eastern markets. Smart Wings is operated by Travel Service Airlines, a private airline company in the Czech Republic that started operations in 1996.

SmartWings started flights from Dubai to Prague (Czech Republic) and Budapest (Hungary) on 16 May 2007. Flight details are (as of 14 July 2007 but subject to change - from once a week to twice a week in after mid 2007)

  • DXB/PRG: Wed depart 19:00 DXB (Dubai International Airport), arrive Thu 01:15 PRG (Prague - Ruzyně International Airport).
  • PRG/DXB: Wed depart 08:45 PRG, arrive 18:00 DXB
  • DXB/BUD: Wed departure 19:00 DXB, arrival 23:15 BUD (Budapest Ferihegy International Airport)
  • BUD/DXB: Wed departure 10:30 BUD, arrival 18:00 DXB

Smart Wings starts regular flights from Prague to Dubai

Smart Wings starts to operate a new regular low cost line from Prague to Dubai from May 16, 2007. This line will be operated once a week on Wednesday. The sale of tickets will start during this week. New generation aircrafts Boeing 737-800 will operate this line.

SmartWings also offer accommodation (Smart Hotels or SmartHotels) and car rental (Smart Wheels or SmartWheels) through their website.

Smart Wings plans to boost flights to Prague, Budapest

DUBAI — The Czech low-cost carrier Smart Wings Airlines, which launched regular flight operation from Dubai International Airport Terminal 1 to Prague and Budapest from May 16, plans to increase weekly frequency soon.

Smart Wings, which currently operates the new generation Boeing 737-800 aircraft once a week on Wednesdays, will increase the frequency twice a week following the appointment of Al Ghaith & Al-Moosa Travels (ALTA) as their GSA in the UAE.

Following the tie-up, ALTA is providing effective service to the travellers from Dubai to Czech Republic and Hungary, the low cost airline said.

“Association between Smart Wings and ALTA will bring a golden opportunity to the business community and tourists to visit the beautiful locations in the Czech Republic and Hungary at an affordable cost,” MP Abdul Karim, general manager, ALTA said.

“The Smart Wing direct flight to Prague will help the large number of passengers who regularly travel to the Czech SPA’s from Gulf. ALTA has a special staff team to handle the SPA customers from the United Arab Emirates and we will cater them through our branch office in the city of Prague”, Karim said.
