Anything else?

The 2009 Abu Dhabi F1 Grand Prix is the first time an F1 race is held in the UAE, and the second in the Middle East (after Bahrain). Abu Dhabi have scored the prestigious final GP race in the Formula One World Championships. With any luck, the circuit might even be finished by November 2009 when the race starts, then again, it could be interesting to see the F1 cars dodging cement trucks and laborers on the track - it would make it a more representative experience anyway. Throw in a few speed cameras and motorcycle couriers, it'll be just like driving down the Airport Road ;).

Abu Dhabi Grand Prix tickets

Postby shawarma on 16 Jan 2009, 14:29

The National newspaper had a report this morning (16 January 2009) about several online websites claiming to sell tickets to the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, but as they pointed out, tickets have not yet been released to the general public (nor have ticket prices), except for tickets to The Paddock Club at over £3100 (about AED 17,000) for the whole weekend. Allsport Management (Switzerland) are reportedly authorised to sell The Paddock Club tickets online - one website given as a legitimate source was f1-gpt.com. Prices for the Grandstand tickets will be released in the coming weeks. Websites listed in the article to watch out for as selling bogus tickets and/or getting details wrong for the F1 in Abu Dhabi (for example still giving the date as 15 November 2009 - it's been changed to 01 November 2009) are

abudhabi-grand-prix.com
getmein.com
profilehospitality.co.uk
soldouteventtickets.com

See the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix page for more information with contact details etc :).
