Etihad Abu Dhabi AUH Chicago ORD

Etihad Airways will start Abu Dhabi flights (AUH) UAE to Chicago O'Hare airport (ORD) in Illinois from Wednesday 02 September 2009. First three times per week and then daily from Thursday 01 October 2009. Chicago will be the second Etihad destination in the USA after New York. Etihad Airways also flies to Toronto in Canada. The press release from Etihad today also said Etihad will start flights to Athens, Istanbul, and Melbourne in 2009. Previous information was that Athens flights would start in June 2009 and Melbourne Australia flights would start in March 2009. Chicago's O'Hare airport was the second busiest in the world in 2008 with almost 70 million passengers. For comparison, Dubai airport had over 37 million in 2008, and Abu Dhabi airport just over 9 million. Other details:

• Aircraft: Airbus A340-500 wide body with capacity 240 passengers in three cabins - 12 in first class, 28 in business class and 200 in economy class
• Abu Dhabi AUH to Chicago ORD: Etihad Airways flight EY151 departs Wednesday, Friday, Sunday 10:20, arrival 16:40 in Chicago (from Wednesday 02 September 2009)
• Chicago ORD to Abu Dhabi AUH: Etihad Airways flight EY150 departs Wednesday, Friday, Sunday 20:30, arrival 19:55 in Abu Dhabi the following day
• Daily flights at the same times for Etihad flights EY151 and EY150 from Thursday 01 October 2009
