Tourist visa Dubai extension date

Postby attif_79 on 21 Mar 2010, 16:09

hi,

Hope everything is good with you.

Right now I am in Dubai on tourist visa which is extended till 30th March 2010. I entered into Dubai by 20th Jan 2010 on one month visit then I extended it further one more month which should be till 20th March but amazingly my tourist visa extended till 30th March rather 20th March, can you please tell me that why my tourist visa has extended till 30th March rather 20th March as my 2 months must be finished by 20th March?

Secondly, I am going to join a company here in Dubai which will process my residence visa but they asked me to comeback to dubai quickly as I have to exit Dubai by 29th March 2010. Is it ok if I will apply for another tourist visa quickly just after exiting Dubai, can I get another tourist visa easily? as I heard that new rules come which say that anyone must stay in his country for atleast a month before applying another tourist visa of UAE, is it true? Thanks.

Best Regards,
Atif.

Dubai tourist to employment and residence visa

Sorry for not replying sooner :(.

1. I don't know why your Dubai tourist visa renewal was for an extended period. You could ask the Dubai immigration department. It might be because there is a grace period which has been added on?

2. Yes, as far as I know, after exiting the UAE you have to wait one month before obtaining a new tourist or visit visa. If the company starts processing your residence visa and labour permit before expiry then you might be able to remain in the country, especially if they ask for urgent processing. Or you could consider just overstaying and paying the fine - I think it's AED 100 or AED 200 per day, and there might be a 7 or 10 day grace period before the fine starts clocking up. Best to contact the Dubai immigration authorities to ask about that though.

It might also be possible for the company to start processing your application while you are outside the country and obtain an employment entry visa for the UAE. I'm not sure if the staying out for one month would apply then.
Please use the forum for questions, not the PM system.
