Transit visa needed in Abu Dhabi Airport with Etihad?

Salam alaikum,

I am Indonesian citizen travelling from paris to jakarta.
i have been asked this questions to many UAE embassies but no answer yet. hope any of you can help me.

so, i booked etihad. paris-abu dhabi-jakarta.
i have to make stopover for 6 hours in abu dhabi as to change the plane.
i am not going out, only will wait my plane in airport and my luggage is suppose to be checked through, and i will not pass the inmiggration.

so, do i need transit visa for that? if i don´t then i will buy the ticket.

Hello achmad and welcome to the Abu Dhabi visa forum .

If you're flying with the same airline and transiting via Abu Dhabi airport without exiting the airport, then you shouldn't need an Abu Dhabi transit visa as far as I know, since you're not exiting the airport i.e. you're not going through passport control and customs in the UAE.

You could check with Etihad Airways if that's who you're flying with, they should be able to confirm that. Or contact Abu Dhabi Airport, or Abu Dhabi immigration.

I did ask them, i even ask to UAE embassy in washington and ottawa through email, but they dont answer me.

Ah, the delights of the age of the internet . Never expect an email reply from anyone or any organisation unless they want something from you (money, friendship, time, customer loyalty), and even then don't be too hopeful ...
