The Dubai World Cup 2008 date is set for Saturday 29 March 2008, announced in a press release 09 August 2007. There are a total of 49 events hosted by the 4 UAE racing clubs - Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club, Dubai Racing Club, Jebel Ali Racecourse, and Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club.

• Winter Racing Challenge consists of the first 10 events, starting at the Nad Al Sheba race track on Thursday 08 November 2007 with the season opening race.
• Dubai International Racing Carnival (DIRC) consists of the next 10 fixtures, starting on Thursday 17 January 2008, with the first rounds of the Sheikh Maktoum bin Rashid Al Maktoum Challenge.
• UAE Oaks meeting on Thursday 06 March 2008 is the final event in the DIRC series
• Jebel Ali Racecourse will have 10 weekly meetings starting on Friday 23 November 2007
• Abu Dhabi Equestrian Club will have 15 fixtures, starting on Sunday 11 November 2007
• Sharjah Equestrian and Racing Club will host 3 meetings on Saturdays, starting 15 December 2007

Curlin won the Dubai World Cup 2008 (DWC) with a winning time of 2:00:15 but there was apparently a possible timing discrepancy and that time was under Emirates Racing Authority (ERA) investigation (I don't remember now where I got that information). The ERA website as of today shows a time of 2:00:15 for the 2008 DWC so presumably the timing issue was resolved and the time unchanged? I can't find any other information about it. If anyone does have more information, reply here ...
