Nightclubs in Dubai

Postby shawarma on 27 Sep 2007, 03:41

Dubai nightclubs - a list of some good nightclubs (and bars), and not so good nightclubs in Dubai.

What's the name of the nightclub where Peppermint Club is? Was it something like Tangerine? I know it's in the Fairmont.

Trilogy would be rated one of the best nightclubs in Dubai. Three floors with a great sound system. Groove Armada played there a few months ago. Friday nights is something called "Deep Night" with overseas DJs coming in.

Trilogy closed

Trilogy is closed according to a Gulf News report yesterday or Friday. Is it because nobody was going after they introduced their members only policy in January 2008?

From what I read, Madinat Jumeirah won't be running a nightclub there anymore. They'll use the venue for conferences.

No loud music outside

Postby shawarma on 24 Feb 2008, 10:44

Since December 2007 or January 2008, the Department of Tourism Commerce Marketing (DTCM) has imposed guidelines more strictly on venues with outdoor music. Meaning places like the Trilogy rooftop, 360 degrees, Barasti downstairs (forgot the name  ), Sho Chos outside, have had to turn the music down. It's not clear if dancing is banned or not, I think the guideline is something like the music must not be loud enough to encourage dancing.

Apparently the reason is that the music might annoy the neighbours. For a place like 360, you wonder how many fish complained to the DTCM to prompt them to take action.

Anyway, moving on to mid-February 2008, I just read somewhere that everything is full steam ahead. Turn the volume up and rock on Dubai :). Can anyone confirm that? I can't remember where I read it, and Time Out Dubai which is usually pretty well on the ball, still had the usual note about calling outdoor venues first because of the new DTCM noise restrictions.
