Nanette and Victoria

Anyone know what's hapened to Nanette and Victoria's show on Dubai Eye? They've been replaced by a rather tongue tied bloke who stutters a lot - not the ideal radio host. No mention of where the two ladies are or when they're coming back??

Last I heard Nanette went to see a Barbara Streisand concert, I think in Prague? Victoria went off air about the same time.

Dubai Eye got a question earlier this week on air about it and the response was elusive to say the least, just that they're not on air at the moment. Hopefully Victoria is ok - she had cancer and spent time in the UK getting repairs a few months ago.

Update on the Victoria and Nanette story...

I heard or read somewhere that they were too controversial so they got axed. I listened to them often and find that a bit surprising, although they did pick on subjects that some might regard as controversial. Nothing that I don't recall reading about in the newspapers though.

Thinking about it, perhaps Nanette did sometimes push the boat out a bit, but my eyebrows would be raised more from her apparent desire for a reaction from whatever authority was in charge of their show. She liked to ask the question why anyone would possibly find what they were talking about to be inappropriate, that old saying "be careful of what you wish for" springs to mind...

That kind of false innocence can often get you into trouble, especially in a place like Dubai where the mixture of cultures means you're bound to offend someone sooner or later, no matter what you do.
