[Closed] Sharjah Indian School (SIS) reviews

Postby shawarma » 25 Aug 2009, 12:55

Sharjah Indian High School, Al Ghubaiba (SIS, SIHS) - information page.

Apparently SIS is closed or will be closed according to instructions from the UAE Ministry of Education (MOE), reported in the Gulf News 30 June 2009.

Typical UAE irony, or perhaps Sharjah irony.

In 2008, the MOE gave SIS permission to add a third shift in the afternoon to the two split shifts already in operation as a way of being able to offer more places to students.
In 2009, the MOE instructed SIS to close for running a third shift without the appropriate approval from the MOE.

So what's the real story? Did the MOE give SIS permission to run a split shift or not? And if it did, why are they telling SIS to close? Or has the Gulf News got something wrong in their report?
