[Update] Sharjah English School SES reviews

Postby shawarma » 22 Oct 2007, 01:00

Sharjah English Primary School (SES) - information page.

SES is Sharjah's oldest English speaking school (started in 1974). They say they are a non-profit charitable organisation. Fees seem high though in that case - maybe to pay for new building and/or high teacher salaries.

29 March 2005 - press release from SES says that foundation stone for new SES campus was laid. School will expand from primary school to primary + secondary (Sharjah English Secondary College). New school location near Sharjah University City on land donated by His Highness Dr Sheikh Sultan Bin Mohammed Al Qassimi, the Ruler of Sharjah. New premises scheduled to be ready September 2005 (fast work!) for initial batch of secondary school students, with a new primary school to be completed at a later date. Headmaster of SES is Mr George Savage according to press release.

Add comments, questions, information, about Sharjah English School to this topic.

Questions:

How many students at SES?
How many teachers?
When are the new primary school facilities ready?
What are school fees?
What is teacher salary range and package? Is accommodation provided, and if yes where is it and what's it like?

SES head and Sharjah English College reviews

Postby shawarma » 28 Aug 2008, 11:15

Headteacher of primary school is now Jenefer Race (is that the correct spelling - not Jennifer Race?) according to SES website (checked August 2008). Previous head of both SES and SEC was Bob Malone, who is now head of the new Yasmina School in Abu Dhabi.

Sharjah English College, the secondary school, is located near Sharjah University City, new campus established in 2005. Sharjah English School, the primary school, is planning to move there ... or has moved there already.

Questions:

New principal of SEC or SES or both (David Throp) started when?
When is the primary section moving to the Sharjah English School premises (or when did they)?
How many students and teachers at SEC?
What are fees for 2008-2009 academic year?
What is teacher salary scale and package? Where is accommodation (if provided) and what's it like?

Add any other comments about studying or teaching at SES or SEC to this topic ...
