Al Hamra Mall RAK in Al Hamra Village in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) was scheduled to open mid-way through 2007, then Q3 2007 according to 2006 news from Al Hamra. Has the Al Hamra Shopping Mall actually opened yet? I just tried phoning them - no answer, and have not seen any recent news to say it had opened. And their website has no information on shops, restaurants, etc.

Al Hamra Mall is still not open but I saw a comment somewhere that third quarter of 2008 is an expected opening date, although the Al Hamra Mall updated website (alhamramall.com) still insists they're opening in 2007: "Al Hamra Mall Grand Opening: As scheduled Al Hamra Mall will officially open in the third quarter of the year 2007" says their November 2006 news release, and their About Us page is even more optimistic - "Scheduled to open mid 2007". The Ras Al Khaimah Spinneys in the shopping mall opened earlier this year though. They must be lonely ...

Al Hamra Mall is on two floors, will have 150 shops and cover an area of about 38,000 square meters (410,000 square feet) - about one-fifteenth of the size of Mall of the Emirates in Dubai. Telephone contact is +971-7-2447275.

Press release 30 November 2009 said Al Hamra Mall opening date would be in first quarter of 2010. But some / many shops already open. Food court and children's entertainment area still being finished.

I can confirm that the Mall is OPEN.

Spinneys was the first to open on GEN SET power.Then Starbucks.

Now perhaps 75-80% occupied.

Mug and Bean opened and closed, not many customers, but perhaps enough. The owner made a runner.

Several revised plans, and the Al Hamra Development offices are also relocated in the Mall.

All in all a good low profile, yet acceptable mall, with a reasonable food court.
