Can i apply driving license in Abu Dhabi with a Dubai Visa?

hi all,

Can i apply driving license in Abu Dhabi with a visa which is issued in Dubai? I am working and living in Abu Dhabi but my residency is issued from Dubai. I dont wanna take driving lessons in dubai as you can imagine it would be a big headache for me.

Is there any possibilty that i could apply and take driving tests in Abu Dhabi?

Hello plastikclok and welcome to the UAE forums .

Usually you get the driving license from the same emirate as your residency visa. For driving lessons, you may be able to do them in Abu Dhabi and then just do the driving test in Dubai. Ask one of the driving schools in Dubai or Abu Dhabi, they should be able to tell you.

If you're from one of the countries listed in that page (linked above) that can just exchange driving licenses, you don't need to do any driving lessons.
