Premier Inn Dubai

Postby shawarma on 11 Mar 2008, 13:37

Premier Inn is a chain of cheap budget hotels based in the UK. Emirates Business 24-7 had a report dated 10 March 2008 saying that Premier Inn plans to build 80 hotels in either the Middle East or GCC by 2016. The report headline said GCC but article content said Middle East, and then later said GCC.

In the UAE, first hotel to open will be in Dubai Investment Park by 30 March 2008, later another one in Dubai Silicon Oasis, and another one in the Dubai International Airport area. Five hotels in the UAE scheduled for 2009 opening dates (unknown if that includes DIA and DSO hotels), and a total of 16 by 2016 with 8 of them in Dubai. Room rates at DIP hotel will be 450 dhs when it opens. Probably excluding the 10-20% taxes. A previous report/press release in February said the rate might be 650 dhs during very major events (which could be 365 days per year since there's almost always something going on that someone would call a very major event in Dubai). That report also said Premier Inn expets to have 6000+ rooms open in the GCC by 2012, so it's not clear what the correct plans are now.

Hey,

Premier Inn's next sites will be DSO, Dxb Airport and a hotel in Abu Dhabi (ADNEC). They should have a minimum of 4 hotels in the UAE by the end of next year.Their rate in DIP is 450AED including all tax and service and free wireless internet. Event rate of 650 AED is applicable to less than 30 days in the year.

In a recent report in Hotelier, it seems that the plans are to expand into Saudi Arabia, Oman, Qatar, Kuwait, Jordan and of course, the UAE. I have also heard that they are opening hotels across India.

The report also states by 2010 they will have a hotel in Jadaf (Dxb), Ras Al Khaimah, Umm Al Quwain and Fujeirah.

Hi navadav, welcome to the forum and thanks for the update :).

There was a press release from Premier Inn yesterday (07 September 2008) saying that Premier Inns had secured land to build their new hotels in Ras Al Khaimah (RAK) and Umm Al Quwain (UAQ). They said they hope to make an announcement soon about acquiring sites for their Fujairah, Abu Dhabi, Muscat, Doha and Saudi Arabia hotels.

Ras Al Khaimah Premier Inn will be on the corner of Bridge Road and Bin Dahir Road near the RAK Creek, and will have 232 rooms. Umm Al Qawain Premier Inn will be on the Ajman/RAK Road, with 186 rooms.
