All information thus far from a report by Hamed Al Sewerky in the Emirates Business 24-7 newspaper (not available online at the time of posting). As the DIrector of Salya Corporation, Dr Rakesh Chandola was quoted in the article, information is assumed to be accurate.
Salya Corporation were reported to have paid AED 800 million for both the Brunei and Finland islands, and are planning to spend a further AED 2.4 billion to develop both islands into Fashion TV based developments. Brunei to be a Fashion TV resort (FTV resort), and Finland to be a Fashion TV community (FTV palace).
Chandola said Finland Island will be turned into a fashion community – FTV palace – and will host an exclusive boutique project of fully furnished hotel suites, villas and water front homes.
There's already a fashion island planned for The World - Isla Moda on Greenland, which was announced in January 2008. So it looks like The World will become a very fashionable place to live. So to speak...
