Australian School of Abu Dhabi (ASAD) opened in September 2006 for 3-10 year old students, and was expected to move to a new building in September 2007 at Khalifa City B (did it?).

School website has teacher salary scale and employment conditions (a rare thing for a UAE school to be helpful like that). Expatriate contracts include accommodation or an allowance of 55,000-75,000 dhs per year for 2008-2009, medical, yearly flights, possible transport and other bonuses of 5,000-10,000 dhs per year. Salaries include 10,000 dhs performance bonus. Hours of work for teachers are 07:50 to 16:00. Salary scale applies to teachers with qualifications from Australia, Britain, Canada, Ireland, New Zealand, USA.

But, no fees information found on website (fees page is blank ). Based on teacher salary scale I'd guess range would be somewhere between 20,000 dhs for KG to 60,000 dhs for Year 12 (per year).

The Australian School of Abu Dhabi website is unavailable at present, so here's what they had to say about themselves in 2008 (unknown what is still valid and what has changed). Posting this as a FYI reference. Domain was originally www.australianschool.ae, then might have moved to www.australianschool1.ae, but both are unavailable. There's nothing at www.australianschool.com but someone is trying to sell it.

Any comments from students, parents, or teachers about ASAD? What's it like to study or teach there? There seem to be quite a few negative comments, are they justified?

The Australian School of Abu Dhabi

The Australian School of Abu Dhabi is an exciting new school. It opened its doors in Abu Dhabi in September 2006 for students between the ages of 3 and 10 years old. In September 2007 the school will move to its new building at Khalifa City B.

Admission will be open to all primary & intermediate levels ( KG – Year 10), as from Wednesday 7th February. Senior secondary years of Levels 11 – 12 will open progressively in following years.

The Australian School of Abu Dhabi ( ASAD ) is a branch of the Australian International Academy in Melbourne, Australia, which has been operating for twenty five years in Australia. The Australian International Academy operates other campuses in Melbourne and Sydney.
